ThankfulEvery good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change – James 1:17. What are you thankful for this year? Here’s my list.

God; for salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, for the Holy Spirit for daily guidance. God is good: it’s his character; that which disposes him to be kind, full of good will, benevolent, gracious, slow to anger, inclined to bestow blessings, the happiness of his people. (Phil 4:4-7) caused me to take time to deeply reflect on the grace that God has extended to me in His plan of redemption – the forgiveness of my sins so that I can stand in His glorious presence without a single fault.

My family! My wonderful wife, Elaine, who has loved me for over 34 years in spite of and some times because of my quirks. My three girls (Nicole, Carolyn & Melissa) who are all amazing women accomplishing great things. My sons-in-law (Tim & Ben) are great guys and are bringing up the male ratio. My grand-kids – Olivia, Logan & Liam. For my parents who chose to adopt me and love me. For my brothers and their families! For my Osmond birth family who have accepted me as one of their own (it has been quite a journey this year).

Camp Widjiitiwin & Muskoka Bible Centre, where ministry happens that changes lives forever, where God’s Word is central, where kids and families hear about Jesus, make friends, try new activities, have fun, grow; where staff grow up, lead campers and each other, become leaders.

Friends who are there for me, steady, faithful.

Canada, were we are free to worship, pray, vote for our leaders, free health care!

My church, where the Bible is preached faithfully, we reach out to our community, people have value, small groups for support and encouragement, prayer support, a big focus on missions, something for everyone.

Good coffee. Preferably strong and black in a large mug. Currently enjoying my morning Folgers and of course some Ethiopian or Dark Magic, Black Bear or Rainforest espresso for later.

The beauty of creation. It is a marvel of God’s creativity. The Grand Canyon was breathtaking as we walked up to the south rim a few years ago. When I see Olivia’s eyes and her smile they rock my world.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. There really is so much to be thankful for if we but pause to consider it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
